Hello!

 

My name is Gill and I am a hopeless romantic!

   

For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by weddings. I used to design wedding dresses and floral displays in the margins of school jotters. Floral design has been a hobby for many years and I have been a church flower convener which allowed me to play with flowers every week! Whilst working full time in the NHS, my romantic creativity was exercised by designing décor and flowers for friends and family and by taking courses to develop my skills. I am passionate about helping couples to realise their dreams and go the extra mile to ensure that happens.

  

  My career in the NHS began as a nurse and midwife, latterly as a District Nurse and Community midwife, leaving clinical practice to concentrate on quality improvement. I then held several managerial posts and directorships, most recently in quality improvement and transformation. During this time, I organized, coordinated, facilitated and chaired events from small gatherings to national conferences. I have been a speaker at national and international events, and have done radio and TV interviews. I was privileged to receive a MBE for services to the NHS in Scotland.

 

    

 Skills and experience from that time are an excellent grounding for my wedding business, combining organizational, leadership and business experience with creativity and romance. Key skills include interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, coaching, mentoring, teaching and leadership as well as crisis management, ability to be flexible and adaptive and calm. I am described as being loyal, caring, supportive, loyal, inspirational, creative, innovative and having infectious enthusiasm, encouragement and personal integrity..

  

I am educated to Masters degree level and apart from my professional qualifications, I studied health economics, quality improvement, collaborative approaches, team development, organisational development and behavioural psychology. I am a Certified Lean Leader and Coach.

   

 I have also studied colour consultation and have diplomas in Colour Analysis, Hair Colour Analysis and Personal Style. In addition, I have undertaken several floral design courses, including wedding flowers and I keep up with trends by undertaking weekly training and subscribing to several wedding, design and floral art magazines as well as on line groups.

   

I am a graduate of the Wedding Academy Global where I achieved a Diploma in Wedding Planning, Styling and Design and am a certified wedding professional.

   

Additional relevant experience is that I have in the past few years, been both Mother of the Groom and Mother of the Bride. I understand!

    

I love listening to the hopes and ideas of bridal couples and helping to bring their vison to reality. I can work with all budgets and all styles and I really look forward to helping you to plan your special day.
